The eResearch Australasia 2009 conference was held 9-13 November 2009 in Sydney, Australia.
Professor Anne Fitzgerald presented on the topic of Sharing environmental data: the role of an information policy framework and copyright licensing [.pdf (extended abstract), 128kb]
Professor Fitzgerald’s presentation considered recent developments in Australia and abroad both in relation to the formation of a national information strategy and the management of legal rights in data. The presentation also considered the Australian High Court’s decision in IceTV Pty Ltd v Nine Network Australia Pty Ltd and the adoption of Creative Commons licensing by several Australian Government departments and agencies.
