Copyright and Data: Presentation by Professor Anne Fitzgerald at the ANDS Roadshow, Brisbane, 30 September 2009
On 30 September 2009, Professor Anne Fitzgerald of QUT School of Law presented at the Australian National Data Service (ANDS) Roadshow at Customs House, Brisbane.
Professor Fitzgerald presented on 'Copyright and Data' and addressed, in particular, whether copyright subsists in data, how copyright in data can be managed, the responsibilities of researchers under the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research (2007) in relation to copyright and data, and the merits of Creative Commons licensing for data. She cautioned against a "no rights" approach to data, as advocated by CC0 ('CC zero').
